The Mediterranean climate, with mild temperatures throughout the year and many hours of sun, has given rise to a distinct architecture where transitional spaces between indoors and outdoors have always been a defining feature. The lattice, as a system for solar control, privacy (seeing without being seen), or composition, has been—and still is a highly representative element of Mediterranean identity.

The Scob Lattice is a modular precast UHPC (Ultra-High Performance Concrete) system manufactured and marketed by Escofet. The material’s properties endow the lattice with unique strength, durability, lightness, and slenderness. Collaborative innovation between Scob and Escofet has resulted in a precast unit suitable for both vertical and horizontal applications, enabling the creation of diverse spaces—such as galleries, pergolas, porches, and atriums—using this passive climate-control element.
