Located between the districts of Horta-Guinardó and Gràcia in Barcelona is a large natural space of more than 100 hectares that includes the hills of Creueta del Coll, El Carmel, and La Rovira. It is one of the city’s green lungs, but it is currently in a high state of degradation that puts its environmental value at risk.
A park
of great ecological value
for the use and enjoyment
of citizens
The goal of the landscape proposal is to establish a park with a contemporary conception, intended for durability and with low maintenance costs. A park of great ecological value for the use and enjoyment of citizens.
A first intervention on the small Can Bech mound has served as a pilot test to evaluate a methodology and a type of intervention based on feasibility, resilience, and minimal investment and maintenance. In a short time, the applied actions have led to an ecological reconquest of the site, managing to modulate and control disturbances, improving biodiversity, water cycle management, and the perception by neighbors that Tres Turons is a space of great environmental value that must be preserved.
